Finland Young Professionals’ Code of Conduct
Finland Young Professionals is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all participants, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, socio-economic background or any other personal characteristic. We expect all attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers to abide by the following Code of Conduct:
Respectful Behavior: All participants are expected to treat each other with respect, kindness, and courtesy. Harassment, discrimination, and abusive language or behavior will not be tolerated.
Inclusive Language: Participants should use inclusive language, avoiding offensive or derogatory comments about anyone's identity, background, or beliefs. We encourage everyone to be mindful of their language and behavior to ensure that everyone feels welcome.
Personal Boundaries: Participants should respect each other's personal space and physical boundaries. Participants should not touch others without their explicit consent, and they should refrain from making unwelcome advances or comments.
Safety and Security: Participants should be mindful of their surroundings and report any safety concerns to event organizers. If an emergency arises, attendees should follow the instructions of event staff and emergency personnel.
Alcohol and Drugs: The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited at our events. In addition, be mindful of excessive alcohol consumption - alcohol is never an excuse for bad behavior.
Compliance with the Law: Participants should abide by all applicable laws and regulations while attending our events.
Reporting Violations: If a participant feels that another attendee has violated this Code of Conduct, they should report the incident to event organizers immediately. All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly. Although it is understandable one may not feel comfortable reporting a (suspected) violation and one’s own safety ultimately comes first, it is still encouraged to not look away and contribute to the values we uphold as an organization. Violations can also be reported after the event by contacting the FYP board via board (at ) fyp.fi.
Consequences of Violations: Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may be asked to leave the event or may face other consequences, including being banned from future events indefinitely or for a specific time period.
We want everyone to have a positive and enjoyable experience at our events. By following this Code of Conduct, we can create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
By registering to our events you are accepting our Code of Conduct and agree to behave accordingly.
